Beauty and Utility Exhibition in Pershore Library.
Beauty and Utility Exhibition from Saturday 19th March until Saturday 16th April.
During 2020 Meadow Arts commissioned four artists to create a series of projects that engaged with the community, reflected the seasons and captured the changing environmental conditions and biodiversity of Avon Meadows Community Wetlands in Pershore. Their work will be showcased at Pershore Library over Spring 2022.
The artworks are intended to be love letters to the site. They are responses to wider notions of beauty and utility associated with the ancient use of floodplain meadows in managing flood water, providing sustainable land management and community benefit.
Artists: Andrew Howe, Emma Plover, Kate Raggett, Melanie Woodhead
The project was a partnership with the Floodplain Meadows Partnership hosted by the Open University School of Environment, Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, Friends of Avon Meadows and Wychavon District Council.
Held in Pershore library, Church Street, Pershore, WR10 1DT.
Open Monday- Friday , 9am – 5.30pm. Saturday 9am -5pm
Free admission. No booking is required.
