Faure Requiem at Worcester Cathedral

Worcester Festival Choral Society is delighted to mark its long-awaited return (and historic 160th concert season) with a packed programme of true choral greats!

On Saturday 27 November 2021, the Choral Society’s 150 voices will perform a glorious selection of cherished choral and orchestral works by Mozart and Fauré:

– Mozart – Overture to The Magic Flute
– Mozart – Solemn Vespers
– Fauré – Cantique de Jean Racine
– Fauré – Requiem

Joining us for the evening will be four, internationally acclaimed soloists (pictured

– Mezzo soprano – Cathy Bell
– Baritone – Julien Van Mellaerts
– Tenor – Frederick Jones

Conducted by Samuel Hudson and accompanied by the superb Meridian Sinfonia orchestra, the concert will be enhanced by the magnificent surroundings of Worcester Cathedral.

NB: Audience access to Worcester Cathedral nave is now EXCLUSIVELY via the front North Door (facing Worcester High Street). There is now no access from the former rear Cloisters door. Please allow for this in your arrival plans!
STAYING COVID SAFE: Worcester Cathedral is a COVID Safe venue with appropriate safety measures in place. Tickets are offered using the usual WFCS seating plan (shown during our online ticket purchasing process) but if further restrictions are announced, we reserve the right to provide alternative seats to those purchased and will advise you of any other necessary, updated government guidelines. We will contact you about refunding choices if applicable. To ensure the optimum safety of everyone attending, we strongly encourage every concert-goer to take an at-home rapid lateral flow COVID test before attending the performance (as the performers will be doing). Please do not attend if you have a positive test result or if you are experiencing any symptoms of concern. Face masks are encouraged at all times whilst inside the Cathedral, although not mandatory. Hand sanitiser will be available on arrival at the venue.
