Nine Days (15) at Number 8, Pershore

A bold and philosophical film about the meaning of life, Nine Days follows Will (Winston Duke) as he interviews five unborn souls to determine which one can be given life on Earth. Will soon faces a challenge in the form of free-spirited Emma, a candidate who is not like the others, forcing him to turn within and reckon with his own tumultuous past.

Making his feature-film debut after a series of highly acclaimed and award-winning short, Japanese Brazilian director Edson Oda delivers a heartfelt and meditative vision of human souls in limbo, aching to be born against unimaginable odds, yet hindered by forces beyond their will…

“a film of dizzying conceptual ambition … poignantly reminds how lucky we are to be here” Variety

“…a special, one-of-a-kind work that announces a significant talent”. The Hollywood Reporter

Directed by Edson Oda.
