Orchestra of the Swan: Labyrinths at Number 8, Pershore

Orchestra of the Swan Return to Number 8
Orchestra of the Swan will be returning to Number 8, Pershore on Friday 28 January, 7.30pm with a
concert based on their new album Labyrinths. The Stratford based orchestra will be joined by very
special guests Radio 2 Folk Award winner Jim Moray and jazz’s rising star, saxophonist and composer
Trish Clowes.
The evening’s programme will explore the crossroads between the creativity of the oral folk tradition, the
rigidity of the classical score. From the traditional music of the British Isles and the Balkans via 14th
century Italy – also taking in New Wave, 80s rock and late 60s psychedelia – this promises to be an
unmissable, exhilarating and unexpected musical journey with one of this country’s most groundbreaking
chamber orchestras.
Tickets priced at £15.50 are on sale now from Box Office on 01386 555488 or can be booked online at
www.number8.org. Ticket holders are also invited to join members of the orchestra at 6.45pm for a
pre-concert talk.
