The Father (12A), Film
Anthony Hopkins gives a compelling performance in this drama about a mischievous and highly independent father who, as he ages, refuses all assistance from his daughter Anne (Olivia Colman). When Anne decides to move to Paris her father tries to make sense of his changing circumstances, but begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of his reality. The film was awarded an Oscar and a BAFTA for Best Adapted Screenplay, and for Anthony Hopkins as Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Directed by Florian Zeller.
